learning how to use UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel), shrink plastic, and alcohol inks to create fanciful faux glass elements.
In this 3 hour class with artist Ginger Samuels learn to use UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel), shrink plastic, and alcohol inks to create fanciful faux glass elements.
Mixed media artists as well as jewelry designers will find many uses for this technique. Besides lovely one-of-a-kind pendants and brooches, these charms add an extraordinary embellishment to assemblage and art/junk journals. If you’ve ever wanted to explore using UTEE or shrink plastic, sign up for this class here. All supplies are included, but feel free to bring tiny ephemera or keepsakes to add to your pieces.

Ginger Samuels
Mixed Media Artist
About Ginger: I love Mixed Media Art. I love everything about it, the variety, the colors, the textures and the endless possibilities. As you can see, I cannot be confined to one type of art. Ever since I was a child, I couldn’t stick with one thing. I did macrame, ceramics, India batik fabric dying, along with watercolor and drawing in school. (today they call this ADHD, haha) As a single mom I made Halloween costumes for my children and volunteered as an Art Docent at their school. Today, when I’m not working, I volunteer at Charity Wings, make cards, or jewelry or crosses or mixed media pictures… and occasionally teach a class. And of course, I still make time for my granddaughter who is 2 1/2!
