“I wish I could go to CHA.”

How many times have I heard that when I tell people that I am on my way to Anaheim? Innumerable!

I’m here to tell you; you can go to CHA.

Join Charity Wings for the LIVE in 4-D adventure and attend the CHA 75 Anniversary Mega Conference and Trade Show for FREE and from the comfort of your home. You will have no long TSA lines at the airport, no arch-killing, limited-padding concrete floor walking and standing for hours, no feeling of being overwhelmed.
Charity Wings will take you to the hottest sites at the show. Manufacturers will give you a close-up view of their new products and the best designers in the craft business will help you learn just how to use those products in creative and exciting ways. Three days of live streaming, 36-40 interviews. There is so much to present at this 2016 show. Host Elena Lai Etcheverry will be joined by hourly co-hosts: Marisa Pawelko, Ann Butler, Joe Rotella, Jonathan Fong, Julianna Avelar, Julie McGuffee, Terri Sproul, Lisa, Fulmer, Donna Salazar, Cindi McGee, Jen Cushman, and Debra Quartermain!

The broadcast is not only in English. Our Portuguese-speaking colleagues, Djana Venolia and Luciana Warnowski will be translating the livestream so we can reach even more friends!

The live-stream will be a full sensory experience. You are telling me, “OK, Karen, I know I’ll hear and see, what about the sense of smell and touch? How will I experience those from home?” We have that covered. The first 250 of you who make a $35 donation to Charity Wings, a 501(c) (3) tax deductible charity, will get a box of valuable goodies mailed directly to your home.

We call it THE ULTIMATE SAMPLE BOX. Open it up and breathe in the smell of new packaging. Look closely, too. Not only will you get a selection of new products from all our generous manufacturers, but some lucky folks will also get Golden Tickets from those manufacturers who make tools or other big items, who cannot ship out 250 items to us. Some folks will win amazing gift prizes! The products you receive will be featured on our live-streaming of the event, too. Of course, even those who do not get a box will be eligible for giveaways. The live-stream event, as always, is FREE.

Going to CHA is fun.

Volunteering with Charity Wings with all the wonderful charity-minded art & craft loving people is a terrific experience. While you watch at home you will not miss out on that camaraderie either. On-line you get to chat with like-minded folks in the ongoing chat. Remember that you can become a member of Charity Wings. Members get, once a month Party Artys, access to the open studio in San Marcos, California and support the programs for other charities that use the facility for free. The mission of Charity Wings is to reach people who can benefit from an outlet of creative expression, as well as the hope, happiness and healing that art can provide. It is part of the mission to partner with other charities serving the disabled community, low-income families, Military/Veterans, various support groups and more. Since opening the Charity Wings Art & Craft Center in 2013 we have moved from solely fundraising for other organizations to collaborating and partnering with them to further their missions through art and creativity. The gift of art brings richness to their lives. Please Become a Member supporter today.

CHA can be exhausting! There is a lot of work with moving recording equipment, charging spent batteries, organizing the sites for video, taking photos of people and products and getting the talent in place. Coordination is key. Many volunteers man the Charity Wings booth giving CHA participants information about the charity. At home, you miss none of the action. Folks working the floor do get to see some of the great presentations, too. The live-stream events are all recorded so you and us volunteers running around at CHA, all can watch the posted recordings later.

As to the sensation of taste, while we sometimes get away in the evening for a nice dinner and during the day Elena tries to make sure we volunteers get some healthy food choices, convention food is often greasy, calorie-laden and tasteless. From home, you get to fix your favorite snacks and beverages and can sit back and eat during the event!

Have I talked myself out of going to CHA? No way! But, if I could not attend you know I’d be seated in front of my computer screen taking it all in.
